Posted on September 21, 2022 by Webfor Yes, Social Media Marketing can definitely help your business grow! No matter what industry you’re in, I wholeheartedly believe that Social Media Marketing will help your business grow…if it’s utilized correctly. In this post I’m going to walk you through 3 reasons your business should be on social media. #1 Meet Your Audience Where They Are via GIPHY I can almost guarantee there’s a social media platform that your audience is already active on. Maybe it’s Twitter, maybe it’s Instagram or LinkedIn. Either way, your audience is active on social media and it’s imperative that your business is there, too. You Need To Know Your Audience First You must first know and love your customer to determine where your business should invest time, money, and resources. If you need help understanding your customer, I highly recommend checking out my coworker Tricia Davis-Payne’s post Digital Marketing Strategy: 4 Actions You Need to Take Now and downloading the Ideal Customer Profile Worksheet resource available on the Webfor website. Now that you know your audience, you can determine where they’re likely spending their time on social media. If your target audience consists of millennials and Gen Z’ers, you’ll want to invest in TikTok. But if your target audience is around 40 years old, you will want to focus more on Facebook, for example. #2 Encourage Engagement & Spread Brand Awareness via GIPHY Social media is just that — social. I think it’s often forgotten that our social profiles have always been meant to be opportunities for communication and engagement. That’s true of personal and professional profiles, in my opinion. At the end of the day, we’re on social media to feel connected to one another. Your business should be taking the same approach. Duolingo does a fantastic job of interacting with their audience and building brand awareness. Check out their Facebook, Instagram and/or TikTok for examples of great, engagement-focused content. #3 Provide Customer Service via GIPHY Even if you say you only handle customer service inquiries via email, customers are going to send you direct messages (DMs) and leave comments asking customer service related questions. Instead of getting annoyed that customers can’t seem to follow directions, try putting yourself in their shoes. All they want is an answer, and you can give them that right there on your social profile! Take a moment to answer their comment or DM, and if it’s a frequently asked question, that will make a perfect piece of content to add to your social media content plan, too. So, really, they’re helping you build out your social content plan! 😉 Watch Your Brand Grow By showing up where your audience is already spending time, encouraging engagement, and providing customer service via social media, you will most likely see growth on social media for your business. As you’re building your audience, you should be integrating conversion-focused content into your social media content plan in order to convert those followers into customers. This could look like building out an email list, selling a product, signing up for a service, and so much more. Not Sure Where To Start With Social Media For Your Business?
