As a bonus — and because we like to be efficient — the gathering will also mark the launch of Webfor owner Kevin Getch’s new book, “Future Proof Your Marketing.” The Webfor office, located at 1002 Main St. in the heart of Downtown Vancouver, will be decorated with a summer theme and loaded with ice cream treats, Otter Pops, meats and cheeses, and other snacks. Born from a “crazy” idea in 2009, Webfor began as a company dedicated to helping local businesses with their digital marketing. Getch left behind a job with secure pay and benefits at the height of the recession — that’s the crazy part — because he felt existing marketing companies had forgotten the three R’s of marketing: Relationships, Results, and Return on Investment. That first year saw 80-hour work weeks at half the pay. Since then, Webfor has grown to a million-dollar company with 15 employees and more than 80 clients, including many from around the nation.
